Worship 10:30 AM         Summer Hours 9:30 AM

Passionate and inspiring worship is what is offered at Monroe Street Church.  From the Prelude to the Postlude, persons are enveloped in the Word of God, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the community of faith.  In order for worship to be meaningful, it must be inspiring to those who come.  The inspiration comes from the Holy Spirit's work among us and the result is that going to church is fun.

Our congregation is very friendly, welcoming and outgoing as any visitor will attest.  Everyone is welcome in our service and is encouraged to participate at their comfort level.  There will always be a friendly smile or handshake, and often an invitation to lunch.

Our service is a "traditional blend" in that we follow a liturgy but leave room for the Spirit to act throughout the service.  We use the United Methodist Hymnal and The Faith We Sing.  Periodically we will insert drama or dramatic readings.  More often than not, the sermons are based on the Common Lectionary and challenge us to live out our faith in very real ways.

Open Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month and on other special occasions.  Communion is served in a variety of ways throughout the Church year.
