Welcome to Monroe Street United Methodist Church!

The Monroe Street congregation is a diverse community that puts a high priority on caring for people and affirming the God-given value and potential of each individual.

Our Mission:     To make disciples of Jesus Christ through:

  •   Reaching out and receiving people into the congregation
  • Helping them strengthen their relationship to God through Christ
  • Nurturing them in the Christian faith and equipping them for lives of discipleship
  • Sending them out to live as God's people -- extending the church and helping make the world more loving and just

Our mission guides and directs all that we do.

Radical HospitalityWe attempt to demonstrate Radical Hospitality to all, reaching out and receiving people where they are, and inviting them to become a part of our community of faith.  All people are welcomed into our congregation and all boundaries that may divide us are broken down.

Passionate Worship:     We know that passionate worship is necessary for people to strengthen their relationship with Christ and other Christians.  Our worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles of liturgy, art, drama and biblically-based preaching, making for inspiring and life-challenging worship. Music is a very important part of our worship experience.

Faith Forming Relationships:     Our goal is to have all of our members and others participate in groups that offer the opportunity to build relationships with one another and with God.  To that end, our small group ministries are expanding and our Church School offerings are high quality.  Our hope is to grow disciples who will be willing to then go out and share their faith with others.

Risk Taking Mission:     Our call to discipleship naturally takes us out into the world to places of need and hurt.  Members of Monroe Street have developed an extraordinary local mission program in our community and contribute to several national and international missions as well.  Everyone is invited to participate.
